Technology Tricks: What Your Business Should Consider in 2015

Are you looking to improve your company's bottom line in 2015? There are many technology tricks you can use to separate yourself from the pack and distinguish yourself within your specific industry.

Upgrade Your Credit Card Equipment
Sometimes when you think about technology, you fail to think about what's right in front of you: your financial transactions. A sluggish or outdated credit card system can vastly reduce your company's productivity. Remember that delayed transactions don't just eat up time during the day, they can also frustrate your customers. New
credit card terminals can now integrate directly into your accounting software solutions with the credit card reader, to improve your accountant's accuracy.

Automate Your Scheduling
Do you regularly take bookings or appointments? Consider automating your scheduling through a website. If you hire independent contractors, this is even better; you can put their schedules in their control and no longer need to manage hours. Allowing for online appointments does two things: it encourages people to book, and it reduces your overall administrative time.

Move Towards VoIP Solutions
It's time to finally make the
switch to VoIP; VoIP is rapidly becoming the preferred telecommunications solution. VoIP telephones work just like regular telephones except they use Internet connections rather than telephone connections. They are easier to customize, more versatile, cheaper, and in areas where the Internet access is stable they can also have just as much up time.

Go Mobile
Cloud solutions have made it easier than ever for businesses to go mobile. Having mobile access to a company's file network and data makes it far easier for employees to manage their work while they're on the go. Going mobile also opens the door for telecommuters, allowing you to source work from anywhere in the globe while paying highly competitive rates.

Take a Look at the Big Data
Now that big data is becoming easier than ever to analyze, you might want to take a look at yours. By collecting
information about your customers, sales, transactions and inventory, you can reduce your inventory waste, boost your sales, and eliminate overhead. "Big data" is really just a collection of information that can be reviewed to determine patterns in buyer behavior and business performance; it can be used for almost anything you can imagine.

These are just a few examples of how to make your business more streamlined. Consult with your IT director to find out more. There are many seminars throughout the year that will update you on the newest cutting-edge technology and opportunities.

Amazing Microsoft video - A sustainable future

"This one is 4 years old and I guess most of you must have seen it but I'm still fascinated by it.." comments one viewer of this video.  This video was uploaded to youtube on 18 Mar 2009, almost 5 years back.  This video shows that there is no end for human imagination and what human can do in near future. Imagine how many jobs will be created in near future.
mrtechpathi_amazing_microsfot_video_a_sustainable_future

I am not sure how many years or how many decades it take to achieve this concept desings to reality. If it becomes real soon, we will be the luckiest people to enjoy the technology. Few may think they are luxuries but remember, "Today's luxuries are tomorrows necessities".

I am feeling lucky to be born in this technology age where we  use mobile phones for keeping in touch with family and friends. But I feel the future generations are the luckiest to enjoy this technology future. Good luck Microsoft !!!

Enjoy this video and shed your comments.

The Latest in Prosthesis Technology and What's Changing

We are living in exciting times. Although no one wants to think about losing a limb because of an accident or disease, today's patients have more options than ever when it comes to prosthesis. Technology has given us some wonderful advancements, including new technology in the following areas.

Innovative Materials
Wearing a prosthetic device used to be extremely uncomfortable, and there is certainly an adjustment period when anyone is using a new prosthesis. However, today's devices are made of materials that can increase both comfort and usability. According to
Noyes Knee Institutes, a knee surgery clinic in Ohio, carbon fiber is now used to fill a foot prosthesis. This material mimics the materials inside a human foot, so it makes the wearing experience more life-like for the user. Titanium is often used to create limbs that are very durable, even under heavy usage for athletes using prosthesis.

Improved Technology
When you think of technological advances, you likely picture the latest features on your tablet or smart phone. These advances are great, but today's newest technologies are also being used in prosthesis.
You might be surprised to find that Bluetooth technology is no longer just for phones or music devices. Instead, it has actually been built into prosthetic legs, arms and more. The Bluetooth technology allows each leg to communicate with the other, so the wearer can enjoy a more natural stride. In addition, improved technology makes it easier to update the software as the patient continues to heal or his specific needs or goals change.

Muscle Reinnervation
Thanks to Targeted Muscle Reinnervation, or TMR, some lucky patients around the globe are learning how to control their prosthetic devices just by using their minds. You might think that this sounds like something out of the latest science fiction movie, but over 30 people are already using TMR technology.
Ryan Blanck, who practices at the
Center for Prosthetics and Orthotics at Brooke Army Medical Center
, has pioneered this technology, and over half of TMR wearers around the world have been fitted by him.

Prosthesis technology continues to improve, so science will be there to assist those injured patients who need it the most. With these new technologies more and more people are able to live the lives they want and even go beyond with the added technology. We’ll be looking forward to what other inventions come out of this field.

A year in review: Top 5 Smart Phones of 2014

Due to the wide variety of smartphones available, you can easily choose the one that suits your preference. For techies this debate can start a brawl, “which was the best smartphone of 2014?” However we must pay tribute to the greats of the year gone by.

Here is a list of five top smartphones of the year 2014:

Apple iPhone 6 & 6 Plus

Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus are no doubt the top phones of the year 2014. Many people bought iPhone 6 plus with the intention of returning it after trying it for a week or so. Most of them ended up keeping it after using it for a week. Apple’s iPhone 6 plus is not suited for every person especially for those who do not like to carry big phones.

Although, many people changed their mind and changed their wardrobe and that was just for keeping iPhone 6 plus in their pockets. Rest of the people bought iPhone 6. Both these phones have excellent quality cameras. Apple’s iPhone 6 plus came with extra optical image stabilization and storage capacity.

These two phones were the most expensive phones of the year 2014. They come with the price tag ranging from $649 to $949. In case of two year contract you can get them for $199 to $499. If you are a frequent user of a smartphone then this price is easily justified for such a flawless smart phone.

2. Sony Xperia Z3

Sony Xperia Z3 is an amazing water proof phone with excellent camera quality. Its processor is quite fast with 32 GB storage capacity. The screen is 5.2 inches with 1920 X 1080 display. The audio experience is great due to its active noise cancelling buds. It comes with a price tag pf $630.

3. New Moto X & Droid Turbo

Moto X is no doubt the best Android phones of the year 2014. The best thing about this phone is that you can make many changes in it according to your taste. You can also order it with black lather. In fact you have many different choices of colors to choose from. It also comes with anexclusive carbon fiber back.

Although Motorola advertises that its battery last for two long days but due to the high resolution display it stays charged for less than two days. It is very affordable phone as the price ranges from $99 to $499 only.

4. Samsung Galaxy Note 4

People fell in love with Galaxy Note phones. Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is no exception. People usually complained about the plastic frame in the previous models of Galaxy Note. Samsung improved the exterior of Note 4 by changing its frame to metallic. This beautiful phablet comes with S pen. If you like using S pens then this is the most suited smart phone for you.

5. Google Nexus 6

Google Nexus 6 couldn’t meet the demands of people as the availability lasted for just a few minutes. Many people couldn’t get their hands on this device. This device comes with a large screen of 5.92 inches.       The 32 GB model comes with a price tag of $649 and the 64 GB model comes with a price tag of $699.

We'd also like to give a honorable mention to the Xiaomi Redmi Note which although only available in China is a real gem of the smartphone. Xiaomi  might be a long way behind Apple and Samsung , but if we do a best Smartphone’s list in 2015 we expect them to feature heavily.

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 vs iPhone 6 comparison

Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 are definitely the top most smartphones of 2015. Let’s compare the specs of both the phones to find out which one is better.

mrtechpathi_samsung_galaxy_note_4_vs_iphone_6_comparision

mrtechpathi_samsung_galaxy_note_4_vs_iphone_6_comparision

Price and UK availability:

The price of 32 GB Galaxy Note 4 is dropped to £578 and it would continue to drop more. There is no 32 GB iPhone so we cannot compare it with the 32GB Samsung Note 4. The 16 GB model of iPhone costs £539 and the 64 GB iPhone model costs around £619. Do not expect the price of the iPhone to go down unless the new iPhone 7 comes to the market.

The other option to buy cheaper iPhone is to either get a secondhand phone or to get the refurbished one. You can easily increase the storage space in a Note 4 as it supports micro SD card up to 128 GB. Unfortunately, this option is not available in the iPhone 6 so think hard which model to buy if you are interested in buying an iPhone 6.

If you are looking to buy a note 4 then do keep in mind the price of 128 GB SD card but the good news is that it won’t get as expensive as an iPhone 6. You can buy both the phones on contracts, although purchasing them without a contract is a cheaper choice in the long run.

Design and Build:

Apple’s iPhone 6 plus has a bigger screen than the iPhone 6. Although many Apple fans are not comfortable with using bigger screens and for them using a Note 4 is out of question as it is even bigger than iPhone 6 Plus.

Apple gave the option of tapping the home button twice which helps in bringing the upper half Apps of the iPhone 6 down. This benefits the user to use iPhone 6 with one hand. Although Note 4 gives the option of multi window but even then it is not possible to use it with one hand.

Apple’s iPhone 6 is definitely a better looking phone with its metal build. The phone is much lighter than the Note 4 and it is very easy to handle. On the other hand Samsung Note 4 looks quite cheap in front of iPhone 6 as it has only metallic corners.

Simon Swift, Director at  SwiftContractPhones.com  believes that pitting the Note 4 against the iPhone 6 is a non contest - "As a former iPhone fan I don't think it is anywhere near the Galaxy Note 4 in terms of specs or performance. Samsung's effort beats it in all areas and I think the only valid reason for choosing an iPhone 6 instead of the Note 4 is if you're not a fan of the phablet screen size."

Display:

Samsung Galaxy 5.7 inch display is excellent for playing games, watching videos, browsing videos or working. It would not be wrong to say that Apple’s display quality comes second in number and Note 4 definitely wins as far as display is concerned.

Hardware and Performance:

Both the smartphones have a very powerful hardware and there is no comparison of other smartphones with these two phones.

Connectivity and Extras:

Note’s NFC is definitely more beneficial than Apple’s NFC as Apple is offering it for only Apple Pay. Both the phones supports 4G and WIFI. They both have finger print scanners. Note 4 gets more points with MHL, IR blaster and Samsung’s download booster.

Cameras:

Both the phones have excellent photo results. Apple’s iPhone uses digital image stabilization whereas Note 4 uses Smart OIS. Although the front- facing camera of Samsung Note 4 is better as it also supports wide Selfie mode.

Battery Life:

Note 4 Battery is no doubt much better than Apple’s iPhone 6 battery. If you use iPhone 6 very carefully then the battery could last for a day. Whereas Note 4 battery lasts for more than a day even if you use it heavily.

Verdict:

Samsung Note 4 is definitely a better choice if you have no problem in lifting bigger phones. Although iPhone 6 build quality is much better than the Note 4 but overall Note 4 is a much better option.
